How to apply for a charity place:

We’d love you to apply to join #TeamSpinal at the London Marathon. Click the button below to apply for one of our charity places. Our panel will review your application and let you know if you have been successful. We receive hundreds of applications and have a limited number of places, so please bear with us while we review them.

Please note: As this year’s London Marathon takes place over both Saturday and Sunday, our charity places are available for the Sunday event only.

Wheelchair entries:

If you are a self-propelling wheelchair user, you are able to use one of our charity places. If you require a support runner to assist with pushing, you will need to register directly through the London Marathon, as they have a separate entry process for assisted participants.

We are on hand to support so please email us and we can help you sign up the correct way.

Got a ballot place?

If you are lucky enough to secure a ballot place on Saturday or Sunday, we’d love you to join #TeamSpinal. You will receive all the perks of being part of the team and all we ask is that you raise as much as you can. FAQs:

Is there a minimum age for taking part in the TCS London Marathon?

Yes, all participants in the TCS London Marathon must be aged 18 or older on Marathon Day – you will be asked to confirm your age when you enter the event.

What is the registration fee and how much do I have to fundraise?

The registration fee for the TCS London Marathon is £100 and we ask all our charity place fundraisers to raise a minimum of £2,500

Please note there is a first fundraising checkpoint of £1,800 which is due on the 25 January 2027. The remainder of your fundraising target (£700) is due 4 weeks after the event.

What is the TCS Double London Marathon?

For the first time, the TCS London Marathon will take place over two days, with participants having the opportunity to complete the marathon on either Saturday or Sunday. This exciting new format has been introduced to help more people take part in one of the world’s most iconic marathons.

While the event now spans two days, Spinal Research charity places are available for the Sunday event only.

Will I get a fundraising top to wear on the day?

Absolutely, we love to send our team a technical top to wear at the marathon. We will even get you an iron on name so you can personalise it.

You can either pick this up at our #TeamSpinal meet-up on Saturday, or have it delivered to your home. We usually share more details about the meet-up and how to order a top after the first fundraising checkpoint in January 2027.

How will I get my race pack?

You will need to collect your race pack from the Running Show, which usually runs from the Wednesday to Saturday before the event. Make sure you allow time to collect the pack during your race day planning.

Can I take part if I have a disability?

Absolutely, you can certainly take part with one of our charity places! To find out more information on accessibility, please click here.

Will Spinal Research be there on the day?

Absolutely! We will have a cheerzone on the day!

We also host a #TeamSpinal meet up the day before the marathon so we can celebrate everything you have achieved together! This is a great opportunity to meet us and the rest of the #TeamSpinal!

I have a ballot place with London Marathon and would like to fundraise for Spinal Research. Can I do this and will I have a fundraising target?
