March 2020 - Coronavirus General Update
Following Government guidelines regarding avoiding non-essential contact with others and working from home where possible, Spinal Research staff have taken to remote working until such advice changes. We will continue to monitor the news and updates, and continue to provide as much information on the matter as possible.
While this will have certain impacts on the way we work, day-to-day functioning of the charity will continue to the same high level - and we remain committed to providing an excellent level of service and will be responding to queries as promptly as we can. However, because we will be working from home, the time taken to reply to post will be slightly longer than normal - so we ask that if anything is urgent it is done via email, which can all be found on the Contact Us page of our website.
NHS England have confirmed that people with a spinal cord injury are considered to be in a high-risk ‘vulnerable’ category under neurological conditions, so we recommend that those with an SCI state that they are spinal cord injured and therefore within the higher risk category when contacting health services - this will impact the information and support provided.
As the situation continues to develop, we are working with all our stakeholders about how best to proceed with research and will provide an update to all our grant holders and students as soon as we can.
We would like to thank you for your continued support of Spinal Research in this uncertain time, please do take care of your health and wellbeing.
