Skydive for research

An exhilarating way to raise funds this summer

Ray plans to celebrate his 70th birthday with a skydive

"I am doing a sponsored parachute jump in aid of Spinal Research. I'm excited and rather nervous at the same time as several people that have done this have said how difficult it is to breathe in free fall until the parachute is opened.
I've been to one of the research centres and also to fundraising events where it was evident that paralysed supporters were so desperate for a cure for spinal cord injury that it nearly broke my heart. I've been an ardent supporter of Spinal Research ever since, especially as there is no government funding for research in this field."

A tandem skydive is the easiest and most popular of all skydives. It requires only 30 minutes of training before you then jump strapped to your instructor! The British Parachute Association qualified tandem instructor does all of the hard work for you, allowing you to enjoy the exhilarating feeling of flying through the clouds from over 10,000 feet at up to 120 mph! A truly unforgettable experience.

How do I get involved?

There is a choice of approved airfields across the UK and a wide variety of dates available for you to jump throughout the year. You don’t need any experience as all training is included. For more information please visit the Skyline website. If you decide to take up this incredible challenge, we will provide you with a full support pack, Spinal Research t-shirt and lots of information to help you fundraise. You can sign up using our registration form. Please note that if you are a wheelchair user, Skyline will need to speak to you directly to assess if the airfield will be able to accommodate your jump.
