FAQs:

Is there a minimum age for taking part in the Great North Run?

Yes, all participants in the Great North Run must be aged 18 or older on Marathon Day – you will be asked to confirm your age when you enter the event.

If you are younger than 18, they do host a mini & junior version of these events. We unfortunately do not have places for these events but if you can get a ballot place, we would love for you to join us on #TeamSpinal. Find out more information here. 

What is the registration fee and how much do I have to fundraise?

The registration fee for the Great North Run is £25.00 and we ask all our charity place fundraisers to raise a minimum of £300.

Please note there is a first fundraising target of £200.00 which is due on the 8th May 2024. The remainder of your fundraising target (£100.00) is due 4 weeks after the event.

Will I get a fundraising top to wear on the day?

Absolutely, we love to send our team a technical t-shirt to wear during the run. We will even get you an iron on name so you can personalise it.

These are usually sent out after your first fundraising target.

How will I get my race pack?

The Great North Run will send your race number and chip directly to your address if you are based in the UK. You will receive this around 2 weeks before the event.

Please note, The Great North Run are unable to post run packs outside of the UK as they cannot guarantee their safe delivery. They will be made ready for collection from the information point.

Can I take part in a wheelchair?

Absolutely, all Great Run events are suitable for wheelchair users. There will be a question on the event portal that will ask if you are a wheelchair user and if you will be participating in a self-propelled racing wheelchair, or if you will be participating in a standard wheelchair and will be assisted (pushed).

How to apply for a charity place:

We’d love you to apply to join #TeamSpinal on the London Marathon. Click on the button below to submit your interest in the London Marathon 2026. We will then be in touch once the applications open.

Once you have submitted your full application. Our panel will look through this and will let you know if you have been successful. We receive hundreds on applications and have a limited number of places so please bare with us whilst we go through the applications.

Wheelchair entries:

If you are a self-propelling wheelchair user, you are able to use one of our charity places. If you require a support runner to assist with pushing, you will need to register directly through the London Marathon, as they have a separate entry process for assisted participants.

Is there a minimum age for taking part in the TCS London Marathon?

Yes, all participants in the TCS London Marathon must be aged 18 or older on Marathon Day – you will be asked to confirm your age when you enter the event.

What is the registration fee and how much do I have to fundraise?

The registration fee for the TCS London Marathon is £100.00 and we ask all our charity place fundraisers to raise a minimum of £2,500.00

Please note there is a first fundraising target of £1,800.00 which is due on the 26th January 2026. The remainder of your fundraising target (£700.00) is due 4 weeks after the event.

Will I get a fundraising top to wear on the day?

Absolutely, we love to send our team a technical t-shirt to wear during the run. We will even get you an iron on name so you can personalise it.

These are usually sent out after your first fundraising target or collected at the meet up.

How will I get my race pack?

You will need to collect your race pack from the Running Show, which usually runs from the Wednesday to Saturday before the event. Make sure you allow time to collect the pack during your race day planning.

Can I take part if I have a disability?

Absolutely, you can certainly take part with one of our charity places! To find out more information on accessibility, please click here.

FAQs:

Is there a minimum age for taking part in the 10k?

Through our charity place, you will need to be a minimum of 17 years old. If you purchase tickets directly through the zoo, the minimum age is 15.

What is the registration fee and how much do I have to fundraise?

The registration fee for this event is £15.00 and we ask all our charity place fundraisers to raise a minimum of £120.00

Please note there is a first fundraising target of £60.00 which is due on the 18th Febuary 2025. The remainder of your fundraising target (£60.00) is due 4 weeks after the event.

Will I get a fundraising top to wear on the day?

Absolutely, we love to send our team a technical t-shirt to wear during the run. We will even get you an iron on name so you can personalise it.

These are usually sent out after your first fundraising target.

How will I get my race pack?

If you’ve entered 2 weeks prior to the race, your bib number and timing chip will be posted to you. You can expect to receive this in the week prior to the run. If for some reason it doesn’t arrive in time, please just visit the information desk on the morning of the race and we can issue you a replacement.

For those who’ve entered closer to the race date, you will be able to collect your race packs at the registration desks in the event village on the day.

When you receive your race packs, please take a couple of minutes to fill out the brief runner Information form which can be found printed on the back of your bib. This will help us greatly in case of an emergency!

Can I take part if I have a disability?

This single 10k loop is a fully road closed event. With one of the most unique start lines in the UK, the race both starts and finishes within the Zoo itself. The first and last kilometres are within the grounds of Colchester zoo, with the route navigating you past Elephants, Tigers and Hyenas to name a few. The remainder of the course is made up of fully closed country roads which offer a picturesque run through the Essex countryside. The course is undulating with the main hills appearing at 0.8km, 1.8km and 8.8km. Despite the hills there is plenty of flat with some brilliant downhill sections too, all in all a course that’s definitely worth giving a go!

The minimum age for competitors is 16, as long as you are 17 on or before 31st December 2025.

What is the registration fee and how much do I have to fundraise?

The registration fee for Hackney Half Marathon is £20.00 and we ask all our charity place fundraisers to raise a minimum of £250.00

Please note there is a first fundraising target of £150.00 which is due on the 18th February 2025. The remainder of your fundraising target (£100.00) is due 4 weeks after the event.

Taking place in the Windsor Great Park and virtually, with headline sponsor, Sure – Parallel Windsor will be the first ever large-scale disability-led event to take place on the historic Long Walk. The award-winning event is a fully accessible Festival of Inclusivity with Challenge Events for everybody of all ages, health conditions, and abilities.

There is a good range of challenge event distances – 100m, 1k, SuperSensory1k, 5k, and 10k – all undertaken with no cut off times, with a spirit of #StartTogetherFinishWhenever. The Festival also has lots of great activities and entertainment including; live music, storytelling, wellbeing, arts and creativity, active lifestyle, play and much much more.

Tickets are just £19.80 for challenge events, which includes a t-shirt, medal, goody bag, and entry to the Festival. Festival only tickets are £5 and virtual tickets £14.50.

What is Parallel Windsor?

Parallel Windsor is a Festival of Inclusivity with Challenge Events for all ages, health conditions & abilities. Held in the grounds of the majestic Windsor Great Park & staged on the iconic Long Walk. To find out more; watch their highlights film from Parallel Windsor 2023. 

Is there a minimum age to enter Parallel Windsor?

Anybody of any age can take part in Parallel Windsor. For the 100m and the 1km – participants under the age of 12 need to be accompanied by a paying adult. Any one adult can accompany a maximum of three children. For the 5km and 10km challenges – participants under the age of 16 need to be accompanied by a paying adult. Any one adult can accompany a maximum of three children.

What is the registration fee and how much do I have to fundraise?

By signing up to this event, you are purchasing your place directly with Parallel Windsor. We do not set fundraising targets for this event but ask that you raise as much as possible.

What is the registration fee and how much do I have to fundraise?

The registration fee for the Sydney Marathon is £100 and we ask all our charity place fundraisers to raise a minimum of £1,800.

Please note there is a first fundraising target of £1,000 which is due on the 31st May 2025. The remainder of your fundraising target (£800) is due 4 weeks after the event.

How will I get my race pack?

You are required to attend the TCS Sydney Marathon Running Show to collect your race bib (affixed
with timing device). Remember…. no bib, no run.

For ease of identification, please bring one of the following two items:
» Confirmation email from Race Roster
» Confirmation number notification via SMS

A reminder confirmation email and SMS will be sent event week.

 

The running show is usually on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday before the event.

Can I take part in a wheelchair?

The Sydney Marathon does not have an official wheelchair or hand bike category at this time. However, the organisers are committed to inclusivity and welcome participation from wheelchair users who meet the necessary skill level.

Please note that the course presents significant technical challenges, including steep inclines and declines, sharp turns, and navigating through large groups of runners. For example, the first 2km includes a steep downhill with 45-degree turns, which requires advanced proficiency in wheelchair racing in a mass participation setting.

While there isn’t a dedicated category, proficient wheelchair racers may still participate through a charity entry. If you are considering this option, please ensure you have the experience and skills required for the course.

What is the SuperHalfs Series?

Six races. Sixty months. One SuperMedal.

Complete all six races in the SuperHalfs series (Lisbon, Prague, Berlin, Copenhagen, Cardiff and Valencia) in any order within a 60-month (five-year) period starting from the date of your first race and become a SuperRunner, complete with your very own SuperMedal.

Can I complete all the races with Spinal Research?

Yes!

We’re partnered with Realbuzz for all six events in the SuperHalfs series, and you can choose to complete any or all of them with us through their portal.

 

Who are RealBuzz?

Our partner Realbuzz are a third-party organisation who connect runners with charities to support, and are a fantastic way to guarantee a place on high-demand races connected with a good cause. More information can be found on their website here.

Is there a minimum age for taking part in the SuperHalfs Copenhagen Half Marathon?

Yes, all participants in the SuperHalfs Copenhagen Half Marathon must be aged 16 or older on Event Day – you will be asked to confirm your age when you enter the event.

 

What is the registration fee and how much do I have to fundraise?

The registration fee for the SuperHalfs Copenhagen Half Marathon is £29.00 and we ask all our charity place fundraisers to raise a minimum of £425.00.

Please note there is a first fundraising target of £318.75 which is due on 01/07/25. The remainder of your fundraising target (£106.25) is due 4 weeks after the event.

Will I get a fundraising top to wear on the day?

Absolutely, we love to send our team a technical t-shirt to wear during the run.

These are usually sent out after your first fundraising target.

How will I get my race pack?

You can pick up your race pack at the Copenhagen Marathon Expo.

Can I take part in a wheelchair?

As per the Copenhagen Half Marathon’s FAQs: “Anyone who is at least 16 years old, healthy and able to complete the entire distance on their own can participate. It is not possible to participate if you are under the age of 16 on the race day of the the Copenhagen Half Marathon due to the distance.

Blind or disabled runners are very welcome to participate and are allowed to bring a guide. The guide does not need to register, but if the guide wants a registered time, T-shirt, medal, etc. on equal footing with the other participants, it is necessary for the guide to register as well.

Bringing special equipment, including jogging strollers, is only allowed after prior agreement with the organizers. Anyone running with a trolley must show the greatest possible consideration and respect the instructions of the officials at all times, including any instructions regarding positioning in the field

Visually impaired athletes or runners with other disabilities where a guide is needed are very welcome to participate.

If the guide wish to have their time registered, race T-shirt, medal i.e. it’s necessary that the guide also register. If the guide only wants to run and help their runner please reach out to us at sparta@sparta.dk”

FAQs:

Is there a minimum age for taking part in the Run Tatton 5K?

Yes, all participants in the Run Tatton 5K must be aged 15 or older on Event Day – you will be asked to confirm your age when you enter the event.

 

What is the registration fee and how much do I have to fundraise?

The registration fee for the Run Tatton 5K is £15.00 and we ask all our charity place fundraisers to raise a minimum of £100.00.

Please note there is a first fundraising target of £60.00 which is due on 13/06/2025. The remainder of your fundraising target (£40.00) is due 4 weeks after the event.

All race packs are to be collected at the event.

To collect them you need to make your way down to the numbers desk between 7:15am – 8:30am.

Yes, all participants in the Berlin Marathon must be aged 18 or older on Marathon Day – you will be asked to confirm your age when you enter the event.

What is the registration fee and how much do i have to fundraise?

The registration fee for the Berlin Marathon is £50.00 and we ask all our charity place fundraisers to raise a minimum of £1,000.

Please note there is a first fundraising target of £700.00 which is due on the 21st May 2025. The remainder of your fundraising target (£300.00) is due 4 weeks after the event.

Will i get a fundraising top to wear on the day?

Absolutely, we love to send our team a technical t-shirt to wear during the run. We will even get you an iron on name so you can personalise it.

These are usually sent out after your first fundraising target.

Please note that if you are an international participant, we attempt to send t-shirts out but they often get stopped and require releasing with a small payment by your local sorting office. This is not something we can cover beforehand so would be expected by the participant.

How will i get my race pack?

You will need to collect your race pack from their Expo, which usually runs from the Thursday to Saturday before the event. Make sure you allow time to collect the pack during your race day planning.

Can i take part in a wheelchair?

Yes, however there is a different process for wheelchair participants. To find out more information, click here.
