You’ll have the chance to bid on fantastic prizes in our live and silent auctions, take part in our popular raffle, and roll the dice at our games table – all while raising vital funds for a life-changing cause.

We are excited to announce that this year we will welcome Saffron Cresswell, an accomplished British event rider, as our guest speaker. Saffron sustained a life-changing spinal cord injury after falling from her horse at the Bramham Horse Trials in June last year. This left her paralysed from the chest down, despite the profound challenges Saffron has faced, she has demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination. She said: “It’s been really hard going from being so fit and focused on my career, doing what I love, to facing a very difficult future, but I’m positive and determined to find new goals and purpose”. She is now focusing on adapting to her new circumstances and exploring future opportunities in coaching, sports presenting, and adaptive sports.

We will also be joined by Grand National winning jockey Graham Lee. In November 2023, Graham was left paralysed from the neck down after being unseated from his mount at Newcastle Races as the stalls opened. In his lengthy career, Graham rode more than 1,000 winners over jumps, before switching to flat racing, and completed the unique achievement of riding to victory in the Grand National at Aintree and the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot. He said: “I’m delighted to be supporting Spinal Research and to be back at Wetherby. This has been an unbelievably tough time, but Spinal Research has given me and my family hope for the future, and we want to do all we can to support their work.”

They will also be joined by top eventer Ros Canter, who won Olympic team gold at Paris last year, and earlier this month, successfully defended her Burghley Horse Trials title – her last event before preparing for the birth of her second child.

This very special event was started by Rachel Wright, a remarkable woman who had a spinal cord injury due to a riding accident when she was just 21 years old. This race day has continued in her memory and has evolved into an annual event that regularly raises thousands of pounds for Spinal Research.
