Royal Windsor Horse Show has named us as its official show charity for 2025, and we are absolutely thrilled to be part of such a prestigious event. Taking place in the private grounds of Windsor Castle from the 15th to 18th May, this partnership provides an incredible opportunity for us to raise vital funds through bucket collections and ticket sales while increasing awareness before, during, and after the show. We are honoured to have this platform to share our mission and advance research that can change the lives of those living with a spinal cord injury.

Every two hours, someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury, and globally, an estimated 15.4 million people live with its devastating consequences. We are at the forefront of efforts to restore spinal cord function, funding pioneering research to find a cure for paralysis. Recent projects include groundbreaking spinal cord stimulation studies aimed at restoring movement, improving bladder and bowel control, and alleviating nerve pain.

“We are truly delighted to name Spinal Research as the official show charity for 2025. Their work is extraordinary, and we hope this partnership will raise significant awareness and contribute to the progress of life-changing research.”

James Shaw, Event Director of Royal Windsor Horse Show

Our CEO, Louisa McGinn, shared her enthusiasm: “Being named the official show charity of Royal Windsor Horse Show is a tremendous opportunity to share our vision with a global audience. We’re incredibly grateful for this platform to raise awareness and funds that will drive life-changing research.”

This partnership is strengthened by our strong ties to the equestrian community. Our Chair, Tara Howell, suffered a life-changing spinal cord injury in 2014 after a horse-riding accident and is now a passionate advocate for research funding. We are also supported by equestrian icons such as Olympic medalist Ginny Elliot MBE and ambassadors Nicola Wilson and Spencer Sturmey, both of whom have experienced spinal injuries while riding.

James Shaw, Event Director of Royal Windsor Horse Show, added: “We are truly delighted to name Spinal Research as the official show Charity for 2025. Their work is extraordinary, and we hope this partnership will raise significant awareness and contribute to the progress of life-changing research.”

Royal Windsor Horse Show is one of the most prestigious events in the equestrian calendar, offering world-class sport, thrilling displays, and a chance to learn more about our vital work. For more information or to book tickets, visit www.rwhs.co.uk.
