Brian has worked in the aviation industry for over 30 years, firstly in the Royal Air Force and, for the past 25 years for NATS, the UK’s largest Air Navigation Service provider. He was paralysed overnight in May 2018 with a rare spinal condition called Cauda Equina Syndrome, and was told that it was unlikely that he would ever walk again. In the intervening 7 years he has not only learnt to walk again but has run a half marathon, gained a private pilot’s licence, walked a marathon around the streets of New York and is about to undertake his biggest challenge; running the 2025 London Marathon to raise money for Spinal Research.
